Life Path Number In Numerology, the Life Path number is the most important number. It represents natural characteristics, talents, and traits based on a person’s date of birth. On the day you were born certain powers were bestowed upon you that will be with you your entire life long. The Life Path Number describes the nature of your journey through life.
A person’s name may change (i.e., marriage, divorce), but unlike your name—your date of birth is unalterable and its personal vibrations shape every event or incident in your life span.
The Life Path number is the sum of your date of birth. It’s important to note that every Life Path Number has both positive and negative vibrations. It’s up to each of us to determine which one we’ll follow.
We’ve all known couples who don’t get along. They seem to constantly be at loggerheads because neither can understand or accept the other’s principles.
Someone born with a 5 Life Path for instance, would have a strong urge to travel; whereas a person born with a 4 Life Path would have more of a “nose-to-the-grindstone” nature. These two could be potentially incompatible if they didn’t understand the nature of certain compromises necessary and possible in their relationship.
By using a simple calculation, you can check the Life Path Number of friends, family, acquaintances, employees, and partners for a better understanding of their aims in life and what you can expect of them as it relates to your own Life Path Number.
Remember, your Life Path number covers a person’s entire life span. Even though you may not currently recognize all the aspects of the path outlined, they’ll eventually be very much in evidence. Some people never recognize theirs until middle-age or after. So don’t worry if what you read isn’t all you at the moment.
The other all-important factor is whether one lives life according to its positive or negative vibrations. For instance: in a 5 Life Path, the travel indicated could represent progress in a positive sense, but great fickleness and irresponsibility when lived negatively.
How To Calculate Your Life Path Number To determine your Life Path number, add together the number value of your month, day, and full year of birth, and then reduce the total to a single digit. The number value for each month is:
1 January 2 February 3 March 4 April 5 May 6 June 7 July 8 August 9 September 10 October 11 November 12 December
For example, if you were born on September 28, 1957 you would add:
September (number value)9 Date28 Year1957 TOTAL1994
To reduce 1994 to a single digit:
1+9+9+4 = 23 (but that’s two digits) so we need to reduce it again:
2+3 = 5
The Life Path number for a person whose date of birth is September 28, 1957 is 5.
The short method for obtaining this same number would be to add the dates this way:
9 (for September) +2+8 (for the date) + 1+9+5+7 (for the year) = 41. Reduce this number to one digit by adding 4+1 which equals 5.
The Life Path Number represents your inborn characteristics, latent talent, moral fiber, and nature of this journey through life—all of which shape your life on earth.

Master Numbers In Numerology most numbers are reduced to a single digit number, 1-9. There are 3 numbers that are exceptions to this rule—they’re known as Master Numbers: 11, 22, and 33. People born under these vibrations, have stronger learning patterns from birth, and at times—when they’re aware of their full potential—can lead extraordinary lives. It’s a matter of choice; it’s a matter of free will.
These 3 numbers are called Master Numbers because they have a higher vibration than the other numbers. They’re highly charged, difficult to handle, and require time, maturity, and great effort to integrate into one’s personality.
11—The Master Dreamer The number 11 represents vision. It’s the most intuitive of all numbers. The Master Number 11 is a dreamer. The 11 represents illumination—a channel to the subconscious, insight without rational thought, and sensitivity, nervous energy, shyness, and impracticality. The 11 has all the aspects of the 2, enhanced and charged with charisma, leadership, and inspiration. It’s a number with inborn duality, which creates dynamism, inner-conflict, and other catalyses with its mere presence.

22—The Master Builder The number 22 combines vision and action. It’s the most powerful of all numbers. The Master Number 22 is a builder. The 22 can turn the most ambitious of dreams into reality. It’s potentially the most successful of all numbers. It has many of the inspirational insights of the 11, combined with the practicality and methodical nature of the 4. It’s unlimited, yet disciplined. It has big ideas, great plans, idealism, leadership, and enormous self-confidence.
33—The Master Teacher The number 33 offers guidance to the world. It’s the most influential of all numbers. The Master Number 33 is a teacher. The 33 combines the 11 and the 22 and brings their potential to another level. When expressed to the fullest, the 33 lacks all personal ambition, and instead focuses its considerable abilities toward the spiritual uplifting of mankind. What makes the 33 especially impressive, is the high level of sincere devotion. This is shown in its determination to seek understanding and wisdom before preaching to others. The 33 in full force is extremely rare.
