JULY SPECIAL
We welcome you to enjoy
50% OFF ALL BOOKS AND MUSIC
during the month of July
--or while supplies last--

Did You Know?
With the admission of each new state our flag has changed.  Upon the admission of Arizona and New Mexico in 1912 the flag grew to 48 stars.

Happy Independence Day! We will be closed July 4th.

Alaska added a 49th state in 1959 and Hawaii a 50th state in 1960.  With the 50-star flag came a new design and arrangement of the stars in the union, a requirement met by President Eisenhower in Executive Order No. 10834, issued August 21, 1959.  To conform with this, a national banner with 50 stars became the official flag of the United States. The flag was raised for the first time at 12:01 a.m. on July 4, 1960, at the Fort McHenry National Monument in Baltimore, Maryland.

HolEssence will be closed on July 4th.

SUMMER READING
One of the best books I've read in a long time is
Breakfast With Buddha by Roland Merullo.  Len and I both read it.  We did a lot of laughing and we did a lot of learning.  It's well worth your time.  If you click on the hyperlink it will take you to that specific post on my Daily Blog.

HORSES OF A DIFFERENT COLOR
Have you been to Woodstock lately?  If so, you've seen a multitude of beautifully painted horses.  If no, it's well worth a trip!  Many talented artists have designed and painted horses that are currently being featured throughout Woodstock both on and off the square.  Why horses?  At the end of summer, the horses will be sold and the proceeds used to help the Main Stay therapeutic Riding Program.

The Opera Horse pictured on the right was designed and painted by local artist,
Donna Jill Witty.

I encourage you to enjoy this summer-long event.  Make sure to take your camera along - these horses are amazing!

DIVERSITY DAY 2009
Planning is under way for Diversity Day 2009.  The 13th installment of the annual festival will be held on Sunday, September 27 from 1 to 4 PM on the Square in Woodstock.

The theme this year is We’re in This Together. The festival is seeking multi-cultural entertainment for the program including musicians, dancers, and folk artists.  They are also looking for children’s programming and activities both on the stage and around the Square.

Nominations for the Peace and Justice Award, presented annually at the festival, will be welcomed through the month of June.  The Award is presented to an individual or individuals who have advanced the causes of justice, equity and compassion in our community and the world.  “We are especially proud of this award which is meant to not only honor deserving individuals, but highlight their work.

Diversity Day 2009 is organized by the Congregational Unitarian Church.  For more information about and opportunities to volunteer, support or participate in it, visit the Diversity Day Blog.

HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS
Housekeeping is something that's never fun, but necessary.  Likewise, I need to mention a few things that aren't fun, but necessary:

You are welcome to record any interactive session.  Please understand that the demands on my time are prohibitive to sending client session notes after a session.

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide us with at least 24-hours notice so that we have the opportunity to offer your reserved time to someone else.

Please understand that I am not available after a session to stay and visit.  I use the time between clients to clear my energy, revive my hands, get ready for the next client and do administrative work.  If you have questions, Len will be happy to schedule a consultation with me, for you.

For people who can't make it to HolEssence during regular business hours, we have extended hours on Thursdays.  If you need an evening appointment, please call Len at 815-276-7173 and he will be happy to schedule that for you.  Please note these appointments book up quickly.

Also, if you have a flexible schedule that allows you to enjoy your sessions Tuesday through Friday, please book during that time.  This allows us to accomodate our weekend-only clients on Saturday.
