Under the Eaves: A Story of Courage and Amazement By Kris Hayden
This inspirational book is about courage in the face of crisis and the change that it inspired. It is a story which encourages us to accept our strengths instead of our weaknesses and that we are stronger and always more capable than we think we are. Kris' extraordinary journey is a reflection of the light that shines in all of us and a reminder to focus on that light instead of being afraid of the dark. Under the Eaves asks us to believe in the human spirit and to surrender to the power of love.
Diagnosed with multiple myeloma -- cancer of the plasma cells in bone marrow -- in March of 2008, Kris underwent seven months of treatment which included two stem cell transplants.

Breast Thermography Friend and colleague, Dr. Jill Balla Shaw, recently told me about Breast Thermography as opposed to having an annual mammogram. A few weeks ago I had my first breast thermogram -- no smashing, no smooshing, no touching -- it was pain-free and fast.
What is Thermography? "Infrared breast thermography is based on the fact that blood vessel activity surrounding a developing cancer is almost always higher than in normal breast tissue. With an ever increasing demand for nutrients, cancerous tumor cells release chemicals that open existing blood vessels as well as create new ones. Vascular alterations resulting from cancer frequently create temperature changes on the surface of the breast which can be demonstrated with infrared thermography."

Nobelity DVD Len and I recently watched this extraordinary DVD. We think you would enjoy it too. We checked ours out at the Crystal Lake library (we ordered it online, so I'm not sure if it was originally from the Crystal Lake Library, or if it was an inter-library loan).
What kind of world will our children and grandchildren inherit? To answer this question, filmmaker Turk Pipkin looks at the world’s most pressing problems through the eyes of nine Nobel Laureates. Shot in the U.S., France, England, India and Africa, this stunning film combines the insights of the Nobel Laureates with a compelling view of poverty, environmental degradation, and the children most challenged by them.
Laurie's Articles I currently have two articles in the Jul/Aug edition of Evolving Your Spirit magazine: Dancing With Trees (pg 4), and Boost Your Personal Power with Yellow! (pg 15). And and a piece on Mindfulness in current edition of Sibyl Magazine.
