Spring Is On The Way Our friend Cindy over at Our Garden Flower and Vegetable Market in Volvo brought us a vase of pussy willows—with a promise of spring. As the little furry buds open they bring to mind the line from James Oliver Curwood's book, The Alaskan, “...and the pussy-willow buds were popping out of their coats like corn from a hopper.”
Reiki Share A Reiki Share is a gathering of Reiki Practitioners who wish to join together for a combination social/healing session. This group has members at various levels of experience, and are looking for additional participants.

Yoga for Knitters and other crafters When: Tues, May 3rd Time: 6:45 - 8pm Cost: $20 Location: HolEssence
This evening will be devoted to yoga exercises specially designed to help stretch out shoulders, arms, hands and backs. After the class, we can adjourn to Le Petit Marche, the French cafe around the corner from HolEssence, for refreshment and a "show & tell" session. Your instructor, Nan Palmer, is a devoted long-time knitter and quilter.
Crystal Therapy 101 In the past we've presented Crystal Therapy 101 in an all day workshop—taking students from introduction, through all of the crystals used on the 7 major chakras. This year we're presenting it in bite-sized pieces.
The first workshop—the introduction as to why crystals can be used in healing—was held on Sunday, Mar 27.
The next class—crystals that address issues stemming from the base (root) chakra—will be presented on Sunday, May 1 from 1-3pm. We selected this Sunday to avoid Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekend.
The cost is $25 and includes curriculum and a tumbled crystal that corresponds with the base (root) chakra. Register by calling 815-276-7173. You must be registered by April 24th. The following Crystal Therapy 101 workshops are scheduled on Sundays, from 1-3pm on the following dates:
Jun 12 - Sacral Chakra Jul 31 - Solar Plexus Chakra Aug 28 - Heart/Higher Heart Chakra Sep 25 - Throat Chakra Oct 23 - Brow Chakra Nov 20 - Crown Chakra
Each class covers the potential issues—body, mind, and spirit—associated with that specific chakra, the crystals that can be used in the healing process, and how to use them—hands-on work with a healing layout.
Reiki Level 2 for Certification An early reminder that this day-long class will be taught by Laurie Buchanan at HolEssence on Sunday, June 26 from 10am to 5pm. For more details, click on this link. Certification in Reiki Level 1 is a prerequisite for taking Reiki Level 2.
