Physical Healing
Grapefruit fairly sparkles, it's so bright and crisp, both energizing and uplifting.  Grapefruit is recommended by some authorities for treating eating disorders, both anorexia and overeating, when they stem from lack of self-esteem. It seems to create a feeling of internal buoyancy. Physically, Grapefruit is beneficial for the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and kidneys.  It aids blood circulation.  It also aids lymphatic drainage. Grapefruit oil is also helpful in treating oily skin and hair.

Grapefruit, applied topically, is recommended as part of anti cellulite blends because of its toning and astringent effects. It has been shown to stimulate the lymphatic system, and thus help the body remove toxins. Recent research has also shown that inhaling Grapefruit Essential Oil may help reduce the craving for sweets. Couple this with its energizing effect, and it's clear to see Grapefruit essential oil is truly the dieter's friend.

Emotional Healing
Of all the citrus oils, Grapefruit is by far the most energizing.  I find it impossible to sit still when we are diffusing Pink Grapefruit.  It makes us all want to get up and move! It is used to encourage joy, positivity, confidence, attunement, alertness, generosity, spontaneity, cooperation, and upliftment. Inhaling grapefruit essential oils provides a feeling of internal buoyancy.

Suggested Uses
Grapefruit has a tangy, citrus scent that is especially appreciated by children. Combine it with lavender in a bubble bath, or make a refreshing travel mist by blending it with peppermint and water in a spritzer bottle.

The delectable aroma of grapefruit has a pronounced impact on the senses and emotions. In aromatherapy applications, grapefruit is refreshing, cheering, slightly euphoria-inducing and slightly energizing. Grapefruit's sweet and familiar aroma can evoke warm feelings that melt sour dispositions. Grapefruit is a "releasing" oil — so personalities that tend to harbor resentment or keep emotions bottled up can benefit from inhaling this oil. Emotional Release Blend:
90 drops Grapefruit oil
5 drops Bergamot oil
5 drops Rose Otto

Mix six drops of this blend with one ounce of water and disperse in a spritzer bottle for an emotional rescue. Or place a drop or two in an aromatherapy vaporizer and enjoy in the room.

Safety Information
Grapefruit Oil can cause photosensitivity so do not apply to the skin prior to exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet rays. It can cause irritation to sensitive skin — always dilute.
