When you hold a crystal for even a few brief seconds it begins to vibrate on a frequency in harmony with your physical body, and this harmonization extends to your mind. Think of them as members of a band or orchestra or choir. Different crystals play or add their own unique notes (frequencies), not the same notes you yourself play, but harmonizing notes which boost, amplify, condense, intensify, and dramatically spiff-up your own.
Crystal energy frequencies also have the inherent ability to support our efforts in surfacing information from our subconscious — information we already ‘know’ on some level, but things we are not consciously aware of at the moment for one reason or another.
Naturally terminated (pointed) crystals are synchronized (in alignment) with life force energy; even in its raw, unformed state. The precise internal arrangement of quartz crystals ensures this constant and consistent harmony. Quartz crystals quite literally help us to ‘stay in tune’.
This is why holding, wearing, meditating, sleeping with, or even just having crystals around us works so well. They continually and automatically try to keep us in tune with their own harmonic synchronization with life force energy — thereby keeping us in harmony with life.
While crystals don’t actually hold electrical charges of energy in the way a battery does, each individual crystal when rubbed or squeezed does produce an electrical charge called piezoelectricity (piezo simply means applied pressure).
While crystals are first-rate conductors of almost any type of energy, they are very poor conductors of heat and cold. This is one of the reasons why crystals should not be exposed to rapid changes in temperature (i.e., never place a cold crystal in hot water, or a warm crystal in cold water). The stone must adjust to room temperature first. Like most minerals, crystals are actually quite delicate and can crack easily. Chipped or otherwise ‘imperfect’ crystals do not lose their metaphysical qualities.
Note: Lead crystal is not actually quartz crystal at all, but is glass mixed with lead. While lead crystal prisms refract light spectacularly, they do not have the qualities, nor are they capable of functioning like natural quartz crystals.
