The Human Aura

What is an aura?

The Human Energy Field (HEF) is intimately involved with our everyday life. It can be described as an oval shaped luminous body that surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body. It emits its own characteristic radiation and is usually called the ‘aura’. Researchers have divided the aura into several layers. These layers are called bodies and they interpenetrate and surround each other in successive layers.

What does an aura consist of?

The aura consists of seven layers of auric bodies. Each one of the subtle bodies that exist around the physical body has its own unique frequency. The layer that is closest to the body has the slowest and lowest vibration. Each succeeding body is composed of finer substances and higher vibrations.

Additionally, each auric layer corresponds to a chakra within the physical body. Similar to the energy stations (chakras) in the body, the auric layers are also interrelated to each other and affect a person's thinking, feeling, behavior, and health. A state of imbalance left unaddressed in one of the bodies leads to a state of imbalance in the others.

1.      The first layer of the human aura is the one that is closest to the body. It corresponds to the base (root) chakra and is known as the etheric body. It is associated with physical sensations; simple physical comfort, pleasure, and health.

2.      The second layer corresponds to the sacral chakra and is known as the emotional body. It is associated with emotions related to self (i.e., self-acceptance and self-love).

3.      The third layer corresponds to the solar plexus chakra and is known as the mental body. It is associated with the rational mind (i.e., understanding a situation in a clear, linear, and rational way).

The first three layers are associated with the physical plane.

4.      The fourth layer of the human aura corresponds to the heart chakra and is known as the astral body. It is associated with our relationship to others (i.e., loving interaction with friends and family).

The middle layer is associated with the astral plane. It is the bridge between the first three layers (closest to the body) and the outer three layers.

5.      The fifth layer corresponds to the throat chakra and is known as the etheric template. It is associated with divine will within. To align with the divine will within; to make a commitment to speak and follow one’s truth.

6.      The sixth layer corresponds to the brow chakra and is known as the celestial body. It is associated with divine love and spiritual delight.

7.      The seventh layer corresponds to the crown chakra and is known as the ketheric body. It is associated with the divine mind and serenity. To be connected to the Divine mind and to understand the greater universal pattern.

The outer three layers are associated with the spiritual plane.
