Please be our guest as Peter Petrouski presents “The Book of Five Rings”.What can a 16th century Japanese swordsman tell us about personality types andwhether or not it is possible to have more then one type? Can he provide us with an understanding of the difference between Being and Becoming and how to not become fixated on searching for the singular unchanging atom that explains life?
The Book of Five Rings; The Classic Guide to Strategy was written by Miyamoto Musashi in 16th century Japan. He was a Samurai, who by the age of 30, had fought and won more than 60 contests. He then turned to formulating his philosophy of the “way of the sword.”He wrote The Bookof Five Rings (Go Rin No Sho) while living in a cave in the mountains of Kyushu a few weeks before his death in 1645. His work has recently been adapted to be used in every day life through the understanding of how the subtleties of movement can affect your dance of becoming.“How you move through life can be seen in the way you move through space.By changing the way you move through space, you can change the way you move through life,” Stuart Heller, PhD, 6th level Dan in Kempo Karate and Chinese Kempo.
