Ann Behringer of the Wisconsin / Illinois Paranormal Society will share with us some stories and personal experiences that run from the ordinary, to funny, to surprising. She will also field questions from the audience. Our Mission The Wisconsin / Illinois Paranormal Society was formed to address a growing interest in the local area regarding hauntings and other paranormal occurrences. Our hope is to prove and disprove hauntings by using both sensitive and scientific methods. Focus will be made in the history of allegedly haunted locations in order to base our investigation in fact. We are available to the general public (private homes, public businesses - everyone) for the purpose of coming to the aid of those who wish to come to terms with whatever is sharing their space with them … whether it is to find a "natural" cause for the problems that have arisen, or to find hard evidence to back up a valid haunting at a specific location. Another service our team offers to those that would like a resolution to their problem is consultation on how the property owners should proceed after a haunting has been determined. If the owner so desires, we can also bring in team members that are trained in doing energetic cleansing / blessings of the geographic location. This rids property of negative energy and allows only positive to be present at the site. We are here to help and to bring reassurance to our clients.
An example of a paranormal occurrence woud be the Tulip Staircase Ghost. Reverand Ralph Hardy, a retired clergyman from White Rock, British Columbia, took this now-famous photograph in 1966. He intended merely to photograph the elegant spiral staircase (known as the "Tulip Staircase") in the Queen’s House section of the NationalMaritimeMuseum in Greenwich, England. Upon development, however, the photo revealed a shrouded figure climbing the stairs, seeming to hold the railing with both hands.
Experts, including some from Kodak, who examined the original negative concluded that it had not been tampered with. It's been said that unexplained figures have been seen on occasion in the vicinity of the staircase, and unexplained footsteps have also been heard.
